Can I put hot pots on my countertop?

Granite, quartzite, and soapstone should not be adversely affected by heat. It is not recommended to place hot pots directly on your quartz or marble countertops.

How do I clean and care for my new stone?

Natural stone should always be cleaned and sealed with products specifically designed for such materials. We carry a Daily Stone Cleaner as well as a Progressive Polisher and Sealer in each of our showrooms.

Is it necessary to seal stone?

Simple precautions and regular maintenance will minimize the frequency of sealing. The purpose of a sealer is to increase the stain resistance, but sealing will not eliminate all staining, and over time sealer may wear off. It is recommended that natural stone be sealed periodically; the frequency will depend on how heavily the countertop is used and how it is maintained.

What is a fissure?

Fissures are a naturally occurring characteristic of stone. While they may look like a crack, it is not a structural defect and does not affect its durability.
